Lake Effect Photographic Adventures Presents: Landscape Photography "Shoot & Critique" Join Will & Hank for Lake Effect's Landscape Photography Shoot And Critique Weekend Workshop. Saturday starts at Gallery 7 in Joliet, Illinois with a lecture on the compositional techniques that are specifically required for great impactful landscape images. Will will then discuss exposure issues and camera controls that are specific to landscape photography and last, he'll discuss the qualities of light and how to control light for making the best landscape images. A late afternoon and sunset field sessions will follow at Midewin National Tallgrass Preserve and at DesPlaines River State Conservation Area. Afterwards, the group will head out for some well earned dinner (the cost of dinner is not included in the workshop). Attending the dinner is optional. Sunday, we'll start back in the field for an early morning field session at Goose Lake State Prairie. We'll have breakfast in the field and make images again for the afternoon's critiques. We'll head back to Gallery 7 in Joliet for image prep time and lunch and critiques. We'll end the workshop between 3 and 4 pm. This Landscape Shoot & Critique will help you discover your "landsacpe eye". Lunch on Saturday and Breakfast on Sunday are included. Participants will produce images covered by the lectures and demonstrations through three assignments. Constructive Critiques will be given on the assigned images on Sunday afternoon. Participants need to have a film* or digital SLR, tripod, and laptop for prepping their images for critique. Some specialized equipment will be available for your use. Exact field locations will be based on the bloom quality of flowers and other conditions at the time of the event. * Film shooters will have critiques provided after the workshop by email or may bring pre-workshop images for critique. Film shooters are responsible for having their images scanned to digital files or letting us know in advance to have slide projection at the event. Having slide projection is not a problem at all, we just need to know in advance. Prints for critiques do not work well and are expensive to produce in a large enough size for group critiques. Fees: $250 includes lunch and breakfast, lectures, demos, field sessions and critiques. The group will gather on Saturday evening for dinner. Dinner is optional and not included in the cost of the workshop.
