Let’s face it, by the month of March in Illinois, even the most ardent winter enthusiast is getting tired of winter. So…Come to Florida with us and focus on your bird and macro photography! Warm weather, sunny skies, blue ocean water and lots of cooperative subjects, what could be better?

We’ll spend a week on the West coast of Florida starting in the Tampa/St. Pete area and move south to Ft. Myers. Our selected sites will provide us with access to a large number of classic bird photography spots including many you have heard of; Fort De Soto, the Venice Rookery, Ding Darling NWR, and Corkscrew Swamp. We will visit these and other lesser known, and less crowded hot spots.

We’ll see and photograph Egrets, Osprey, Eagles, Spoonbills, Ibis and many more species. Southwest Florida is a different world for bird photographers. If you love birds, you’ll love going on this trip. Walt has lost track of how often he’s photographed in this part of Florida and never been disappointed.

The cost of this tour is $1250. The deposit required to reserve your spot is $500. the balance of $750 will be due on January 10th, 2012. The price includes the tour. Lodging and transportation are not included. Lodging at preferred rates is reserved and instructions for booking it will be sent out with registration confirmation. We will try to assist folks with car pooling, but transportation will be up to the participant.

We have blocked our lodging at preferred rates at The Country Inn & Suites in Brandon, Florida for March 4th through the 7th and at the LaQuinta Inn in Fort Meyers, Florida for the 8th and 9th.  The Country Inn & Suites rate is being negotiated and will be available shortly.  The LaQuinta rates is $82.80 + tax per night.

Walt Anderson is your photographic guide. Walt will offer instruction as requested and answer your questions in the field. This tour will fill fast, it is limited to 12 participants.

Fee:  $1250.00, includes the tour. Lodging, meals or any transportation are not included. We have blocked out lodging at a preferred rate. Instructions for booking your lodging will be sent when you reserve your spot. Lodging for Sunday through Wednesday is in Brandon, Florida and for Thursday and Friday in Ft. Meyers, Florida.
