Weekend Workshop with Will Clay & Don Carter

 

Join Will & Don for Lake Effect's Wildflowers in Print Weekend Workshop.  The event will feature lectures and demonstrations for taking your RAW image files and using RAW image processors, and preparing images for color printing and also preparing images for conversion to black & white. Participant's will spend Saturday morning in the field at nearby Starved Rock or Matthiessen State Parks making images of the the bountiful spring ephemerels that cover the canyon bottoms. Participants should also bring 5 of their favorite wildflower images as back-ups. Will and Don will work with participants on their images after the beginning lectures om Saturday afternoon and on and Sunday morning Participant's will also print one 16x20 or 2 8x10 prints on Sunday afternoon to take home with them. Lunch on Saturday and Sunday is included. Dinner on Saturday night will be a optional group activity. Lodging suggestions for the area are included in the information packet. Dinner and Lodging IS NOT included in the price of this event. Lodging is available with 5 minutes of Will Clay's Studio.

Don and Will will cover Digital Capture, Workflow, Raw Capture and Conversion, Image prep for color printing and for conversion from Color to B&W, and Lightroom or Photoshop Workflow for printing. Partiicipants will need to have a laptop computer and Adobe Photoshop CS3 or CS4 and/or Adobe Lightroom already installed on their laptops. Photoshop Elelments is not sufficient for this workshop. This weekend workshop will be held at Will Clay's studio and classrom in Ottawa, Illinois. Field sessions will be at close by Starved Rock or Matthiessen State Parks, Participants should have a Digital DSLR and tripod. Film shooters are also welcome but would have to bring digital scans of pre-workshop wildflower images.

Fees:  $250 includes lunches, lectures, demos, field session and 1 16x20 print or 2 8x10 prints.

The group will gather on Saturday evening for dinner. Dinner is optional and dinner or lodging is not included in the cost of the workshop.
