A Four Day Workshop with Fred Drury & Hank Erdmann

Join Fred & Hank for Lake Effect's Print Presentation Workshop; "Seeing Your Art On Your Walls".  The event will start with a discussion on the art of matting and framing. We'll discuss techniques and equipment, supplies and materials, and how to be a smarter purchase of framing materials and services. In this workshop you'll learn what you can realisticly do at home with regards to supplies and equipment, what it takes to do non-standard sized framing, and how to be a smarter purchaser of services and goods. You'll bring in a print of your own, lab printed or personally printed, select the matting and framing treatment, mount the print on a mount board, cut the matts, and assemble the finsihed piece. We will demonstrate cutting and assembling the frame and construct the frames for the participants.

We'll also discuss mounting and matting materials, glass and plexiglas, archival issues and costs and various presentation norms, standards and non-standard possiblities, creativity and other presentation vehicles.. The workshop will be cinducted on two consecutive Wednesday evenings 7 pm to 9:30 pm and Saturday mornings 9 to Noon.

 

Workshop Fee:  $350 includes lectures, demos, information notes and a finished framed artwork (double matt, glass and frame) with your supplied 11x 14 to 11x17 print (a $125 materials value).
