Join Will and Paul photographing the fall color of Illinois' Shawnee National Forest. We'll enjoy numerous photographic opportunities at sites like Bell Smith Springs, Garden of The Gods and Little Black Slough / Herron Pond Natural Areas, and Dixon Springs, Ferne Clyffe and Giant City State Parks. The exact sites will depend on a conditions per our scouting trip a day or two before to insure you get the best photo opportunities.

Transportation and meals are not included in this event but we usually take meals as a group. Breakfast is after our sunrise/morning shoot. We skip lunch because breakfast is usually later in the morning. We do recommend bringing snacks along for those in between meal times. At this time of the year we'll be shooting at sunset and going to dinner after the sunset shoot. Participants do not have to attend meals with the group but would miss much of the fun and fellowship of a workshop at meal times. Lodging is included in the workshop and the group will be based out of the Vienna, Illinois area.

Our workshops are in-field instructional workshops. We believe the best way to show folks how to make better images is to show them in camera, on site, in the field with hands-on instruction. Lectures are fine by themselves but instruction in the field will have you making better images much faster, while working with your own equipment. Our instructors are with you in the field, providing demos, hands-on help, compositional and technical advice and often lending their own gear for you to try in the field.

The workshop will start with an orientation on Thursday evening at 8pm. Those arriving early will head for dinner together. Friday, Saturday and Sunday will start with sunrise shoots. Middays, depending on the light avialable, we'll photograph or do a critique at the hotel. Saturday night, we host a social evening with image show and tells. The workshop ends on Sunday after check out from the hotel. This event is limited to 12 participants. Currently there are only 3 spots open on this event.
