Hiawatha National Forest & Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
Alger County, Michigan
Workshop with Will Clay, J Paul Moore

Fall Colors in Michigan's UP is just to good to be missed, even when you have semi good colors year like last year. Fall was a bit late but in the four days we were up there, it went from just starting to prime, that's how fast it can change! We’ll photograph in the lakes region of Hiawatha National Forest, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Seney National Wildlife Refuge. This workshops include the workshop, in-field demonstartions and one-on-one help with your photography, and nightly critiques. Lodging, transportation and meals are not included. The cost of this tour is $475. A $250 deposit is required to hold your spot. Limit: 12 participants. Lodging has been reserved at a discounted rate at the Days Inn in Munising, MI for the workshop. Participants will be sent information to reserve one of those rooms and may book the lodging occupancy of their choice. Participants wishing to share rooms, will be put in touch with other participants wishing to do the same.

Our Workshops are designed for all photographic skill levels. We put you in the best photographic locations at the best times to provide the best photo opportunities. Workshops include demonstrations and in-the-field instruction. Workshops may also include occassional lectures and critiques, dependant on the focus of the event and facilities at the lodging site. Our Photo Instructors are with you in the field to conduct demonstrations, show techniques, to point out photographic subjects and compositions, and to answer your questions in the field. They stay with the group, proactivley checking with participants, making suggestions and offering advice as they photograph with the group.

Our workshops are not the typical classroom style events where you fall asleep looking at slide lectures. Our workshops may include occassional lecture sessions but for the most part we conduct in-field instruction. This alllows us to demonstrate techniques and skills and explain concepts with actual in the field instruction as issues arrise. This way you can be shown how to do something instead of told how and having to trust your memory for later application.
