I am asked on occasion if I give customized group photographic instruction or if I do specialized or personalized workshops for groups. The answer is yes!

Specialized Group Instruction
I will happily do group classroom sessions for 4 to 100 or more people, and will structure the workshop to your group’s needs and requirements. I will do field workshops for groups from 4 to 25 people, depending on the site and what level of instruction and length of session is required. Certain sites just cannot cope with large groups of photographers and serious damage to a natural site can easily result from even the most careful group of photographers. So site selection will be key to the maximum number of participants. There is also a maximum of personal attention I can give to people, even over the course of a full day session, when the group size gets larger than 12 photographers. I prefer limiting groups to 8 to 12 photographers, especially on half-day field sessions.

One instance where I will do larger groups is in a combined classroom and field session, at a site that is less fragile or adapted to larger numbers of visitors. I can also arrange for other qualified photographic instructor assistants to help out with larger groups. Multiple day workshops can be designed for two days, weekends or longer sessions, including multiple days split one day a week for a number of weeks or similar such arrangements. Additional instructors for larger groups can help make such events viable as more participants can obviously receive more personalized attention if there are multiple instructors. I can bring in natiobally and regionally recognized photographic instructors. Additional assistants will require some additional cost to any group and will be billed to the group as a whole on a fee per event basis, call for a quote on such an event. I ask for a deposit of 50% of the total fee to book any individual session date.

Photo Tours
Photo tours are non-instructional events where I act as a guide only. This outing is especially valuable when going to a site for the first time, and not having the time to do much pre-scouting for the best subject material or views. This is also a great way to share travel expenses and not have to eat meals or spend long hours alone on the road. Of course, I can only guide to places that I am familiar with so call for quotes on time availability and if I can guide to a site of your interest, or for a list of sites that I can guide to.

Photo Tour and Field Session Group Rates - Per Person Fees

• 4-6 People $35 per hour, or $85 per day (8 hours)
• 7-10 People $30 per hour, or $75 per day (8 hours)
• 11-12 $25 per hour, or $65per day(8 hours)

I ask for a deposit of $25 per person to book any of the above group session dates.
For groups larger than 12 participants, please call for a quote, a deposit specified in the quote will be required to book any large group session date.
